What we’re about

Hello! I took over organizing this group in March. I was interested in building community and maintaining a space for women in the Long Beach area to connect over books.

We are an inclusive group interested in discussing books and connecting themes to our personal lives and to the broader social context. Our group is fairly informal and relaxed, with a group-led discussion format.

Every member in attendance has the opportunity to suggest a theme for a book as well as vote on the books we read. Each month we meet to discuss the book we read, select a theme to guide our next book selection, and vote on the book to read next month (which reflects the theme we picked the prior month).
