I enjoy Potlucks and playing Scrabble...if you are a woman over 40 and like these things too, please join for a biweekly(every other week), Friday night social at my home in Lomita.
For the Potluck, everyone can bring a dish/appetizer to share. When you RSVP, please write in the "comments" section of the event what you will bring to share. If you must cancel after RSVPing, please do so by the Wednesday preceding the scheduled event. If there is a waitlist, I would like to give people an opportunity to join.
I will supply the plates, napkins, etc. I will make an appetizer, too, and have water/seltzer, some red wine and coffee/tea. If you want other drink options for the night, please bring something to share. I consider myself a casual player, so this is NOT a group for serious and competitive players...just ladies who want to socialize while enjoying a casual game or two. I don't want to have a game time limit or a turn time limit. Just in case things aren't moving along, each table can enact their own rules. I am hoping common sense will prevail! I am able to host 11 ladies plus myself - 12 total.
So people have time to make it from work and fight the traffic, I would like to start at 6:15pm(socializing and eating) and at 7:00pm start the first game of Scrabble. Names will be randomly drawn for the table you will be seated at for the evening. Finally, I do ask that you have a picture attached to your name/account. This helps everyone remember you!
This is my first time organizing a Meetup and I am sure it will be a learning experience for me re: the website and RSVPs etc. I will do my best to make this an enjoyable evening. I am looking forward to the year ahead, playing Scrabble and meeting new people!
