Welcome! We look forward to meeting you!
We are a fun and welcoming group for ladies who live and/or work in Northern Virginia to gather, meet, connect, relax, network, and learn from each other. Women of all ages in the Northern VA area are welcome--working women, empty nesters, retirees, ladies of leisure, single, married, moms, grandmas, great grandmas, those new to the area, NOVA natives, etc.
If you like to have fun, stay positive, encourage other ladies, and build lasting friendships, this is the group for you. We enjoy going on hikes; visiting local restaurants/wineries/breweries; dancing; enjoying live music; painting; biking; kayaking; exercising; reading new books; and watching movies under the stars, among other things.
Our only rules are:
1)Find as many ways as possible to inclusively build up the other ladies in the group as often as you can. We all have enough challenges, criticism, gossip, complaining, and negativity in our lives so we ask that you please help keep this a relaxing, welcoming, respectful, and positive safe haven for us all.
2)Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Building others up and showing respect applies to your event commitments. It is disrespectful to the organizers, hosts, venue owners, and other women in the group when you RSVP to attend an event and then do not to show up or cancel less than 1 day before an event. This creates more work for the organizers and hosts who have day jobs and families and then have to scramble to fill your seat; it angers the women in the group who wanted to go to an event but couldn’t because you held an opening that you didn’t use without giving enough notice for someone else to take your spot; and it makes it more difficult for our group leaders to build solid relationships with area restaurant/business owners who do their best to accommodate us.
Those who don't respect these rules will be removed from the group. If you believe you've been removed from the group by mistake, please let us know.
We are all new like you (this group only just started in 2020) and we look forward to getting to know you at one of our upcoming events. We are not professional concierges or event planners so we welcome your help. Let us know if you would like to organize/co-host an event.
