If you had a surprise day off work tomorrow, what would you WANT do? Would you want to kayak on Mt. Island Lake? Hike up Mt. Mitchell? SUP and chill? Marvel at the sensory explosion that is a Full Moon hike? Latta Outdoor Adventures is the group where people just like you come to find out what Outdoor Adventures are being offered RIGHT NOW at Latta Nature Preserve! We will keep you posted on all the programs for age 12 to Adult. Some are FREE meet-ups. Some cost a few bucks. Don’t have your own gear? No problem. That’s why we are here. Book a tour with us and let the Outdoor Recreation Specialists at Latta do the heavy lifting, literally. Migration Birdwatching

Ready your binoculars, Fall Migration is starting to wrap up at Latta Nature Preserve! Join us for a morning with one of our educators as we search for birds making their way south for the winter.
This program will include a hike upwards of 2 miles, dressing for the weather and bringing water is highly recommended. A limited number of binoculars are available to borrow – please let us know if you will require a pair.

Stride along the trails of Latta Nature Preserve and observe its quiet magic throughout the seasons. A skilled naturalist volunteer will accompany you to spark your curiosity in nature and answer questions about the neat plants and animals you’ll see.
This is a moderate, brisk hike. Be prepared to cover up to 4 miles in two hours. Hike will start no later than 9:05am at a new location each time.

Maker Mondays -- Drop In
Quest at Latta Nature Preserve, 6345 Sample Rd, Huntersville, NC, USThe holidays are almost here – it’s time to finish up those handcrafted gifts and connect with nature! Bring any portable project and meet other crafters (weaving, fiber art, painting, jewelry, you name it). Not working on anything? Each Makers Monday will include a different nature-based craft to make and take. Stop by anytime from 9a-12p – indoor and outdoor space will be reserved.
