Taiji and Qigong are ancient meditative and movement arts which have been practiced together for hundreds of years. Both promote robust health and well-being, along with focused awareness and relaxation.
Trained and endorsed by formally acknowledged Qigong Master, John Alton, with sumplemental training from Master Lu Shaojun, among the top masters in Beijing, Teacher Blake Wheeler has practiced and taught Taiji and Qigong for over 25 years. His instruction focuses on delivering the many health and meditative benefits of these arts in the most direct and accessible fashion possible.
Classes in the course will focus on 2-3 movements from the form for 2-3 consecutive classes before continuing to the next movements. Students will also learn basic Qigong, concepts from the "10 Essential Principles of Taijiquan", and a warm up routine.
The 24-step simplified Yang style Taiji form is the most widely practiced and one of the most accessible forms in the world for any level. Class will be every Sunday at Lone Lane Park in Allentown. The course costs $65/month and can be repeated indefinitely to achieve deeper levels of skill.
