Hosting up to 5 people for indoor Taiji (aka Tai Chi in the older spelling) and Qigong (aka Chi Kung) at teacher Blake's home practice space through the winter. Can accommodate 5 dedicated practitioners to get through 4 months' worth of Taiji and Qigong material. One trial drop-in is allowed if space is available. Must be okay with cats. All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome.
For the 4 months, the first portion of practice will be training in the 24 Posture Simplified Yang form, and the last 30-45 minutes will be Qigong movement and meditation training. Taiji practice will focus on 2-3 movements from the form for 2-3 consecutive classes before continuing to the next movements. Qigong practice will cover the fundamentals of 3 Emperors' Qigong as taught to Blake by Qigong Master and author John Alton, cultivating the "8 Extraordinary Meridians", seated meditation, Taiji Gongfa (cultivation method), Rou Shen Gong (warm body cultivation), Taiji Qigong, Chen Taiji silk reeling, and possibly other material over the 4 months. Practitioners may join at any time as space allows, and the material will repeat every 4 months for students to gain further skill and refinement. Reference videos will also be provided to assist with solo practice.
We ask that those attending sessions make a monthly donation to the group with a suggested donation of $144/month. Donations to the group within one's budget, along with dedication to practice, are greatly appreciated. There is no fee for the sessions/gatherings. We will offer outdoor sessions for a larger group as the weather gets warmer. Please message directly for further details.
