Lesbians Over 50 MN

For March, we'll discuss a later section of Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex. The book is split into volumes, parts, and chapters, and can be read independently. You're welcome to read the whole book, but we'll be discussing:

Volume II, Part One (Formative Years)
Chapter 1 (Childhood)
Chapter 2 (The Girl)
Chapter 3 (Sexual Initiation)
Chapter 4 (The Lesbian)

The book may be in the public domain already, but if not, you should be able to get a copy at your local library.

I'll need to give a list of attendees to the front desk ahead of time, so I'll close the RSVP the Saturday before the meeting. And I may be messaging you for your last name (if I don't already know it), so be sure and check your messages!

For April, a fiction month, let's read and discuss The Left Hand of Darkness, by Ursula K Le Guin.

Experience the magic of Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra: Bruch and Korngold with Tabea Zimmermann.
Zimmermann, who is regularly cited as the world’s greatest living violist, teams up with Principal Clarinet Sang Yoon Kim in a double concerto full of rhapsodic, Romantic flourish and lush harmonies that intertwine with the sound of the full orchestra.

The tickets have already been purchased and will cost you $16, which you can pay on the nigth of the event to Susan P., who will be the event host.
Six tickets have been purchased. So if more people sign up, they will be waitlisted until it can be determined if additional group tickets are available in a nearby section.
Susan will meet you at 6:30 pm just inside the main door (door #1) which faces Johnny Cake Ridge Road. She will be wearing a black waist length coat, black pants and a green, purple and white hat with a tassel on it.

Please be on time (6:30 pm). If you are late, you will not be seated until after the next piece is completed.

Join our group for another walk around one of the gorgeous lakes in the Twin Cities: Westwood Lake.
Westwood Lake is part of Westwood Hills Nature Center (WHNC) - located just west of Mpls in St. Louis Park -, a 160-acre natural area featuring marsh, woods and restored prairie.
The trail will be a 2 mile loop around Westwood Lake, including boardwalks, wood-chipped and paved surfaces.
Trail conditions depend on the temperatures: it could be snowy, icy, slushy, muddy, dry… Make sure to wear shoes/boots with good traction.
This walk will be led by Gundula. She will be wearing a blue knitted hat with white horses.
Our group will meet outside the front door of the nature center building (Interpretive Center). The WHNC has a large public parking lot in front of the building. Parking and admission are free.
Please be on time.
For our outdoor events, no pets unless the event leader writes they are welcome in the posting.
Keep an eye on this posting as the date or time may change due to weather conditions. All our meetups have a minimum of 5 in order to run. Please change your RSVP if you are not able to make it for any reason.
