Welcome future friends, Let’s Explore South Florida (and beyond)! Are you looking to make new friends while exploring the many gems we have at our fingertips in beautiful South Florida? Then this group is for you. The strength of Let’s Explore South Florida (LESF) relies on the contributions, creativity and diversity of its members. You are welcomed into a group of people who are not content sitting back on a couch and watching the action. This is not where memories are made. We dive right in (sometimes quite literally) to the many wonders, activities, events, socials, and anything else that peaks an interest or sparks a flame and would make it on your list of stuff you would like to try but didn’t have anyone to do it with. Well, now you do!
The types of events primarily posted on LESF are action based, meaning we like to get out and move. Biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, diving, camping, yoga. Or maybe; art shows, botanical gardens, charity events, bowling, pool parties, billiards, museum tours. What else? Have you ever ridden a bike in the Everglades at night? Have you ever hiked through waist deep water to explore a cypress dome? How about tubing down a lazy river alongside manatees? Maybe you would like to show off your karaoke skills in downtown Miami. How about organizing a hike on a wonderful little trail you visited once and would love to show to others? Yes [insert your name here], we want you!

The money part:
There is a cost to run the meetup group. Dues will be $15 annually, please use PayPal account adrianhi@hotmail.com. Make sure to include your name in the payment's comment area.
We realize this is not a lot but the small $15 fee will help cover dues and fund some small monetary expenditures through the course of the year associated with the events. We realize that even though this group is simply life changing for many of us, it may not be for you and we would not want you to pay an annual fee if you find it is not a great fit for whatever your reason. This fee is waived for the first 3 months so you can try the group out to see if it is something you like.
There are also some events that require some monetary expenditure and these will be posted in the event description. We ask you to please keep up your portion of the financial responsibility as some events we will try to get group rates, which can be affected by a few who do not hold up their end.
Attitude:
When in LESF, you have to have an open mind and positive attitude. Some of the events can be physically demanding. We do our best to verbally describe these events to allow members to assess if it is something they may like, and be able, to do. Please read event descriptions carefully and bring positive energy to the events.
Code of Conduct:
This group is a very diverse set of people from many different backgrounds and cultures and LESF is lucky to have every single one of them. Respect for others is at the top of the list of prerequisites to join in on the adventures with our members.
Your Role in LESF:
We greatly encourage your participation. If you are in this group, we want to see you. A group with 1,000 members is only as good as its 1,000 member participation. We discourage people who apply for membership then never attend any events. Equally frustrating are members who sign up for events, then do not show. Our organizers take pride in doing the legwork to set up enjoyable experiences for you to be part of. We look forward to seeing you there. A lack of participation will lead to an assumption of a lack of interest on your part and ultimately a cancellation of membership.
We also expect that each member attend 1 event every month, otherwise, you will forfeit your membership here due to inactivity. We would love to have you along for some great times.
