What we’re about
Walking in and around Northamptonshire
Welcome! We are a group of working age people from in and around Northamptonshire who enjoy walking and socialising together. Our walks take place on Sundays, around two weekends a month. New members are warmly welcomed, so if you’re new to the area, looking to extend your social circle or would like someone else to take the map-reading strain, please come along and give us a go!
Our walking community
Our walks are free and led by an experienced, volunteer walk leader. Typically, we’ll walk 8 – 10 miles each walk, although we do offer shorter walks on a regular basis. We usually start walking at 10.30am in the morning, finishing around 3pm.
Our routes take us on field paths linking the beautiful villages and waterways of Northamptonshire, stopping for a welcome rest and a drink in a local pub along the way whenever the route allows.
In the summer we often venture further afield such as the Cotswolds, the Chilterns and the Peak District and also plan local evening walks. We also organise regular social events and trips away.
We publish an outline walks schedule on our Facebook page, and aim to publish more details around a month before the walk takes place on Facebook, MeetUp and the Go walking section Ramblers Walk Finder.
