What we’re about

This group is for INTERMEDIATE level hikers who enjoy meeting new friends while being outdoors year-round. If you want to get some exercise and have fun with like-minded people, then come and join us for a day hike or a walk. Events are usually in the province of Quebec, Adirondacks, Vermont.

To learn more about this group, I invite you to read this page thoroughly. It contains IMPORTANT information, the group's rules and the Responsibility Waiver.

Looking forward to exploring the hiking trails with you!

Responsibility Waiver
I fully understand that outdoors activities may be dangerous and, by becoming member, I acknowledge and accept all the possible risks of injury, loss, or damage arising directly or as a consequence from a Let's hike! Montreal Meetup Group activity.

I hereby release the Let's hike! Montreal Meetup Group and the activity organizers from all responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage to myself and release the said Group and organizers from any and all claims including any claims which may be made in my name by my heirs, successors, administrators, and executors of my will.

The group's rules
Please read the entire event page before you RSVP. Its purpose is to inform you. The organizers include how difficult the hike is, what to bring, where to meet and other information they feel it is important for you to know. Hike distances and elevations, as well as links to topographic maps or GPS tracks (when available) will be listed in hike description for each event.

It is important to keep your RSVP current. If your plans change and you cannot attend an event you're signed up for, please be courteous and change your RSVP to NO. Check the event page the day before and the morning of, for any last minute changes. This is important because the event could be cancelled due to inclement weather, meeting time changed, etc.

This is a non-profit group and membership can be denied and cancelled at any time with the Organizer’s discretion, usually, for the reasons that are harmful/problematic to the group (such as non-payment of the carpool fee, negative attitude/behavior towards other group members, disturbing the harmony of the group, etc.).

We use carpooling to travel. If you are driving, add a comment on the event page stating how many people you can accommodate. If you need a ride, send a private message to a driver to request a space & exchange contact telephone numbers. Don't ask for rides by posting comments and pay the carpool contribution to your driver as mentioned in the event description. In case you don’t pay your driver for the ride, you will be removed from the group without notice.

In this group, respect is a basic principle. With the goal of avoiding wrong attitudes or problems, we abide by the concept of "NoShow". Any cancellation less than 24 hours before the event or not showing up on the day of the event will be marked as a "NoShow" on your profile. At the third "NoShow" you will be removed from the group.

The Event Organizers are volunteers, not professional guides and do not have certified training. They plan events in their free time. The hike Organizer is simply going on a hike and inviting others to join.

Participation in any event with the group is at your own risk. Hiking safely is your responsibility. Make sure that you are in good physical condition to participate and you have all the required equipment.
