What we’re about
We’re a group for LGBTQ+ folks and allies in Fort Lauderdale looking to make some new friends and connections. Don’t be afraid to join if you’re straight, as long as you support and are friendly toward us LGBTQ+ individuals. (If you are interested in more dinners, theatre, and related activities, don’t forget to checkout the Fort Lauderdale LGBTQ Social Meetup Group.)
We have some beautiful locations around the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. Our goal is to have fun events in or near our area, make some new friends and connections, and just have a good time. We’ll plan outdoor adventures, such as beach days, hiking, canoeing, camping, etc.; we’ll visit museums and related attractions; we‘ll continue to have miscellaneous crafting events; and hopefully plan some game nights as we get to know one another.
••Crafting••
Getting together and enjoying crafting is probably our most consistently attended events. Typically, we meet about every 3rd Thursday of the month, give or take any conflicting events in the community. We’re contemplating having adding another day/night of crafting. If you’re new to crafting, there are many of us who could teach the the arts of knitting, crocheting, beading, cross stitch, etc. Drop us a message in the communication section of a particular crafting night, or send me a private message if there’s something in particular you’re wanting to learn. We likely can have available the supplies necessary to get you started (e.g., yarn and knitting needles/crochet hooks; simple cross stitch aida cloth, pattern, needle, and floss).
••Outdoors••
Please let us know of particular venues you’d like to explore. Do you have a favorite beach or hiking spot? Is there a campground that you love to visit? Suggestions make it easier to plan events at new locations or return to some of our favorite haunts. We enjoy doing activities at Fern Forest, like their free Bluegrass Music jams or adult coloring outdoors. We’ve also gone to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park and had potlucks by the water.
••Gaming••
Though we’re not a hardcore gaming group, it would be fun to have an occasional game night with board games, cards, or possibly D&D for those who know how to play (personally, I’ve never had the chance to learn but am curious).

Come out and join us for some beer, games, and conversation. You can try some of the amazing concoctions they have on tap.
Merriment and revelry is the theme of the night. We might play some games or cards. Feel free to bring a game you like.

Nature, Food, and Fun
Join us for a potluck picnic and bring your friends and family!
We’ll be heading to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park on Sunrise Blvd just before the A1A. There’s a big parking lot in the Northwest corner of the park. We’ll try to nab a picnic table and grill overlooking the Intercostal Waterway (the red marker on the map should be pretty close to where we’ll be). Look for me in my neon yellow and black power wheelchair.
Entrance fee is $6.00/car up to 8 people. Consider carpooling .
Please bring:
- A dish to share and serving utensils
- Plates, cups, napkins, and silverware for yourself
- BYOB, if you want a beverage
- A folding chair to sit on
- A couple portable tables might be handy, if anyone has one (I’ll try to bring one myself)
- Sunscreen and bug spray
