What we’re about
A friendly group connecting LGBTQIA+ people in Thamesmead, South East London and the surrounding area.
Our regular meetups include a community drop-in, monthly coffee brunches and various socials.
We also organise events such as Thamesmead Shantay, our regular LGBTQIA+ drag, comedy and cabaret fundraiser night.
Whether you've lived locally for a long time or you're new to the area, if you're LGBTQIA+ and looking to make new friends and find support in and around Thamesmead, you are welcome here! 🌈

Thamesmead Shantay returns on Saturday 14 June with our Pride Ball! 🌈
Join us for our biggest, brightest and boldest night yet to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride, featuring drag performances, games, a raffle, and the chance to win a costume prize if you choose to come in Pride-themed drag or fancy dress!
We're celebrating queer hometown pride with a line-up of phenomenal performers who are all local to Thamesmead, including:
- Alma Groin (@alma_groin) in our headline slot
- Chapelle Groan (@chapelle_groan) in our slot for new and emerging artists
- our hostess with the mostest, Letti O'Burn (@lettioburn)
Once all the fun is done, the dancefloor will open up for everyone to enjoy until the end of the night!

- Concessions (students, over 65s and guests with disabilities): £7
- Carers: Free when accompanying someone with a concession tickets

Join The Gayzelles LGBTQIA+ Running Club at the weekly 5k Thames Path Parkrun!
Parkrun is open to everyone regardless of fitness level or experience with running. You can go at whatever pace that suits you best, including walking!
We meet next to the Thames Clipper river bus terminal at 8:45am. The Parkrun starts at 9am.
It's free to take part, but you must register your place on the Parkrun website each week before you start.
Afterwards, join us for a coffee to socialise and get to know new LGBTQIA+ people in our local area.
