London History Walkers

Join me, tour guide and actor Nick Richmond, for a journey through historic London, following in the footsteps of Charles Dickens, from his early life working in a factory on The Thames, through his career as a legal assistant at The Inner Temple and on to his huge success with novels like The Little Curiosity Shop.

I will guide you along ancient and famous Fleet Street, home to the tale of Jack The Ripper and the notorious Fleet River. We visit the Inner Temple, heart of the Victorian legal system and St Dunstan's In The West Church. We also go to the Old Curiosity Shop, made famous by Dickens's novel of the same name.

To celebrate the arrival of Spring here is a very special London outing . Join parliamentary tour guide and actor Nick Richmond for a journey by foot and by boat from the Palace of Westminster to the Palace of Greenwich .

Starting at Parliament Square we will explore the famous statues and I will tell you all about the Houses Of Parliament as well. We will then take a Thames Clipper up the river from Westminster to Greenwich ( you can tap in and out as you would on the tube ) with a specially prepared audio commentary along the way ( phones and headphones will be needed) . At Greenwich we will walk up to the Observatory overlooking Greenwich Palace and discover the royal and naval history of the area , including the famous Cutty Sark tea clipper.

This tour will take around three hours and we will end at Greenwich where you can take a boat or train back to The City .

The British Museum is justly famous for its huge collection of artefacts and artwork from around the world .
It can be a lot to take in , but here is a fun way to navigate round one of the largest museums in London.

I have created a treasure hunt style challenge that will take you from ancient Assyria through medieval Britain and right up to modern times . Along the way you have to find works of art , ancient sarcophagi and solve a series of riddles to complete the quest.

You can pick your teams in advance , take a solo challenge or simply come along on the day and join up with a friendly face or two. Entry to the museum is of course free and afterwards we will go to the lovely cafe in the museum to recount our adventures .
