I hope everyone is doing well! Well, for our second social meeting I wanted to go to a tiki bar as a way to celebrate my birthday! So lets all mingle, meet each other and just hang out. We are going to be hanging out at Secret Island Tiki Bar! They have a great selection of food and drinks as well as an awesome atmosphere.

This event is separate from the book club so you do not have to have read this month's book. However, you can still talk about it.

Everyone is welcome at this event. Please be respectful to everyone you meet at this event.

Welcome to the second meeting for the Page Turners Anonymous book club! We are a super laid back book club focusing on unconventional books (Idk what this means but it sure doesn't mean the normal books you would read at any other book club!). For our second meeting we are going to be discussing a truly fantastic book, Tender Is The Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica. A virus wipes out our ability to eat meat from animals with the exception of one species. This leaves us with a new industry sprouting up to process these animals. In the end only predators and prey remain.

I want to emphasize that this is not a very high-stakes book club. What I mean by that is that I do not expect a doctoral thesis about the themes and symbology of the book. I just want you to focus on your favorite characters, scenes, and how you related to the book. This does not mean you can skate on by not reading the book. You are still expected to both contribute to the discussion and socialize with the other members. I think socialization and making friends with each other is the keystone to a good book club more so than the books.

We are going to meet at ISM Brewing. They have an incredible selection of food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic)! I will reserve a seat for everyone. Please do try to arrive on time as it would make the discussion easier.

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to create this event as a way to have a separate meetup apart from the book club just to socialize and chill out.
This is a separate event from the book club. So you don't need to have read the book or even attend said book club meeting. Just come out and hangout with no strings attached. Have a drink (alcoholic or not) and some food. Meet some new people (Hopefully new members of our group)!

What should you expect from this meeting? Well first off a laid back time. Secondly, board games! I'm a huge board game fanatic and I would love to play some games with y'all! So I will be bringing some games. If you have any that you want to teach then please bring them with you!

Welcome to the third meeting of the Page Turners Anonymous book club! We are a super laid back book club focusing on unconventional books (Idk what this means but it sure doesn't mean the normal books you would read at any other book club!). For our third meeting we are going to be discussing a pretty cleverly written book Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero. A group of young detectives were at their height of achievement in the 70s solving case after case. Now, in their 30s they must come to term with the fact that maybe some of the monsters they investigated weren't just criminals in a mask.
