You will have a FREE TRIAL OF ONE MONTH (please don't waste your trial month by sending your join request at a time when you will not be able to physically join us). After that, we only require a YEARLY DUE of $5 (our group receives $4.12, the Meetup website keeps $0.88). If the $5 membership fee is not paid, THE WEBSITE will AUTOMATICALLY eliminate you from the group at the end of the trial time.
💰 Why pay a membership fee? Well, the organizer is required to pay $98.94 every 6 months, in order to maintain the group alive in this website. Member dues help pay for that, as well as encourage participation. Form of payment? You will need to enter your credit card info. Or, if you prefer, you can also pay via Venmo (@Isabel_Vegana), or cash when you see the organizer.
DESCRIPTION OF OUR GROUP: If you are a vegan, or eat a plant-based diet, or are vegetarian, plus enjoy going out to restaurants and bars as much as you enjoy going to a potluck, want to meet like-minded people, and live in, near, or are willing to travel to, the shore towns of Monmouth County, then this is the group for you. 👍 It is intended to be a place where to have fun dinning and drinking out, make new friends who will not ask "Where do you get your protein?", share experiences regarding your dietary choice (its challenges, and joys), swap recipes, learn from each other, and more than anything have a good time.
We will be visiting some fantastic vegan restaurants (to support them with our $), and some veg-friendly bars and restaurants (to show non-vegan businesses that there is a demand for delicious cruelty-free fare).
*NOT VEGAN? If you (or your guest/plus one) are not fully vegan, please understand that out of courtesy we expect you to ONLY order vegan food when we visit a restaurant that offers non-vegan options. After all, this group is OUR VEGAN SAFE HAVEN.💚 Thank you for understanding.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you RSVP "yes" and become a "no-show" for 3 times, you will be dropped from the group. 🚫 So, if your plans change (hey, life happens) KINDLY update your RSVP in a timely manner. In that way we won't save a seat, and wait for you in vain. As crazy as it sounds, last minute cancellations, arriving late, and becoming a no-show are frowned upon.
**Paid events: We have a few of these from time to time. Because the Meetup website keeps a fee for each transaction, the amount to be charged per person for a paid event will be calculated as follows:
Amount to be charged = (Desired amount to collect + $0.50) / 0.925
For example: if the amount needed to be collected is $10 from each member who RSVPs to a paid Meetup, we will charge $11.35 per attendee.
