What we’re about
We’re excited to welcome you to our Meetup group, Loose-Leash Leadership Training, hosted by Pragmatik Canines! Join us for our weekly event, "Training at the Park", where we’ll work together to transform your walks into peaceful, enjoyable adventures.
Event Details:
- When: Sunday at 10 AM
- Where: Phoenix Dog Park
- Hosts: David Crawford & Joey Hannan from Pragmatik Canines
Is your dog taking you for a walk instead of the other way around? Whether your pup lunges at squirrels, pulls toward other dogs, or struggles to walk politely by your side, we’re here to help! This Meetup is perfect for anyone looking to improve their dog’s leash manners or simply socialize with other dog owners.
What We’ll Cover:
- Loose-Leash Walking: Master the techniques to stop pulling and create a calm, controlled walk.
- Sit When You Stop: Teach your dog to sit automatically when you come to a stop, promoting patience and safety.
- The Break Command 'Free': Learn how to use the 'free' command effectively, giving your dog structured opportunities to relax and take care of business in appropriate areas.
What to Bring:
- Your Dog: Of course!
- Collar or Lead: A well-fitted flat collar, slip lead, martingale, or prong collar (let us know if you need one provided). Harnesses are acceptable for already trained dogs, but not recommended for teaching.
- Water: To keep you and your dog hydrated during the hour-long class.
- An Open Mind: Ready to learn, grow, and build a stronger bond with your dog.
Cost: Free
We want this training to be accessible to everyone! While there is no charge to attend, a $10-$20 donation would be greatly appreciated to help support the time and effort put into running these sessions. However, donations are completely optional—come train with us regardless!
Health Requirements:
Please ensure your dog is up to date on all vaccinations and has been spayed or neutered for the safety of all participants.
Important Note:
If your dog has any reactivity issues, please inform us beforehand to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Disclaimer:
While we strive to create a safe learning environment, we are not liable for any injuries to you or your dog resulting from misinformation or negligence.
We’re looking forward to meeting you and your furry friends! Together, we’ll build better walks, stronger relationships, and unlock your dog’s true potential.
See you at the park!
Warm regards,
David Crawford & Joey Hannan
