We are the local Diplomacy board game group, the Los Angeles Legionnaires. We are a relatively young group with the goal of introducing new players to the game of Diplomacy.
Diplomacy is a social strategy game where seven players engage in freeform negotiations with one another, maintaining nuanced relationships while each tries to expand their influence across the map. The game is simple to pick up, but no two games are ever the same. Diplomacy has a rich history dating back to its release in 1959, including the origin of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop game which was first introduced at the 1972 Diplomacy Convention.
We are currently enjoying a worldwide resurgence in the game's popularity, which you now have the opportunity to join!

What is Diplomacy? This is one of the classic strategy games that inspired many of our favorites today, including Dungeons & Dragons and The Game of Thrones Board Game. Players spend most of the game talking with each other directly while they write their moves in secret. Alliances are constantly shifting as power dynamics evolve. Easy to pick up but impossible to master, Diplomacy is unlike anything you have played.
New players are encouraged to join! Come see why Diplomacy is a worldwide board game sensation after 65 years of play. Our group exists to introduce new players to the game, and this event is a great opportunity to meet some of the living legends of this hobby. Bring a friend!
PARKING
Geeky Teas & Games has a large parking lot in front, first-come first-served. Carpools are encouraged to be kind to our venue for hosting us, but also because Diplomacy is a social game. It's never to early to get to know the competition!
TRANSIT
The venue is a short drive from the Burbank airport, right off the intersection of the 5 and 134 freeways. Contact Justin ahead of time if you would like to arrange a carpool.
