What we’re about
Are you interested in psychology as a subject? Are you passionate about learning about how the brain works? Do you have no formal employment in any psychology field but find it interesting regardless? Me too.
I'm Matt, I'm 42. I have memory difficulties from an Acquired Brain Injury. I've been a patient in psychology and psychotherapy, I've read a lot of books in the field, but I'm still a total amateur. I set up this group to see what I can learn about the field of psychology, and perhaps how I might be able to help others in that field. I want the group to be a social opportunity to connect with others, Make friends, learn and maybe understand ourselves a little more. This might be through a coffee or food and a group chat in the evening, or it could be through an activity of some kind.

See all- Death CafeNeeds location
Hinterland vegan cafe and alcohol free bar have a range of intriguing events on. I'm planning to check a few out, including their monthly Death Cafe.
'At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. Our Death Cafes are always offered:- On a not for profit basis- In an accessible, respectful and confidential space- With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action- Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake!'
It will be my first time at this event so I won't be able to answer questions about it, but Hinterland are good people so any questions, fire them their way.
