See all- An 8 mile circular walk to Win Hill from Hope Station with car share.Hope Train Station, Hope
The route will takes us up along the breathtaking Hope Edge then back up to the summit of Winhill before descending to Derwent Reservoir and then back, ascending a little before the downhill trek back to the Station via The Travellers Rest (menu here).
Terrain might be challenging with a dog but if you think your pooch is up to it (they may have to be lifted over some obstacles) dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead at all times.
The intention is to offer car shares from The Metropolitan from 9:15. I can offer three seats but if you have a vehicle which can offer more or would like a lift, post below.
The 9:30 train from Manchester Piccadilly arrives at 10:24, according to the timetable. More details here. Details of the return journey here.
We'll set off from the station car park at 10:45am promptly. I'll bring a South Manchester Social sign, so look out for that. Parking along Station Road is free.
My mobile numbers are 07838119330/07367180235 if you need to get in touch on the day. I will update this description to include more information as we get closer to the time.
Likely route here.
You can see the weather for hope here. Sundays forecast is ⛅
Distance: 8 miles with 500m vertical ascent. Ascent is the total you will be climbing. e.g. if you walked 1km with 100m of elevation gain, then walked another 2 km and lost 100m altitude and then gained another 100m over the rest of the walk before descending to the start, that would be 200m ascent in total.
Please check back on the day as details may change.
