What we’re about
We're a friendly, inclusive hiking group. Most of our hikes are in Central Maryland, within 20 minutes of I-695. We have hikes for beginners, which are around 4 miles, and easy terrain. We also have weekly hikes that are moderate or strenuous for more experienced hikers. The hikes will be labeled as "easy" (mainly flat, walking), "moderate" (a mix of some hills and flat trail) or "strenuous/difficult" (steep hills or rock scrambling).
Other activities might be camping, kayaking, sailing, climbing, and winter activities like bowling, dancing...any suggestions??

Meet at the Visitor Center NOT the Overlook. There is a parking lot (Overlook) right by the road. That is not the Visitor’s Center. There is a driveway to the Visitors Center about two hundred yards from the Overlook.
We will do Choate to Connector to Red Run. Pace will be moderate.
Soldier’s Delight, 5100 Deer Park Rd, Owing Mills.
Maryland DNR describes the park: “Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area (NEA) is comprised of 1,900 acres of serpentine barren. The area has over 39 rare, threatened, or endangered plant species as well as rare insects, rocks and minerals. There are seven miles of marked hiking trails. Equestrians and cyclists are prohibited due to the sensitive nature of the area.”Pets are allowed.
Please keep your canine friend in the back of the pack as they often make smelling and marking stops.
