Sometimes you want to climb K2, sometimes you just want to read about it.
This is a book club for those of us who love to read about true life tales of exploration, adventure, and survival against all odds.

- One book every 6 weeks
- We meet in person at TBD- Coffee shops, breweries, Harmon's cafe, outside at a park, the library, etc.
- Ideal members have an open mind, love reading so much that you'll enjoy discussing a book even if you didn't like it that much, and are self-aware enough to know when to stop talking and relinquish the floor to someone else.

Intrigued by Polynesian folklore, biologist Thor Heyerdahl suspected that the South Sea Islands had been settled by an ancient race from thousands of miles to the east. He decided to prove his theory by building a boat using the materials that would have been available to those pre-Columbian sailors and duplicating their legendary voyage.
On April 28, 1947, Heyerdahl and five other adventurers sailed from Peru on a raft built from balsa wood, bamboo, and hemp. After three months and 4,300 nautical miles on the open sea they sighted land—the Polynesian island of Puka Puka.
