Welcoming all new writers, experienced writers, and anyone in between, to come be inspired by each other, learn from others in the group, socialize, and meet new friends!
Every Saturday we meet at a cafe called Hickory Trading Company in Chesapeake. Each meetup has its own writing prompts. I am open to feedback and encourage consistent participation if able. Writers really get more out of the events when more people participate. If you have ideas that you think would be beneficial please share!

Join us on Saturday 25th January, at Hickory Trading Company in Chesapeake for a special creative writing session! This week, we’re diving into the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge 2025. For those participating in the contest (details at NYC Midnight; $67 entry fee), prompts will be released at midnight on Friday. During the meetup, you’ll have the chance to write to your prompt, share your work, and get valuable feedback from the group.
Not entering the competition? No problem! We’ll provide prompts for everyone to write to, ensuring that all attendees can participate. Whether you’re preparing for the challenge or just looking to explore your creativity, this session is for you.
This meetup is open to writers of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. The café offers a cozy space with a small parking lot out front, plus a full breakfast menu if you want to grab a bite before or during the session.
