What we’re about
This group is for anyone interested in working with their minds and emotions, as well as deepening their spiritual life through the practice of Buddhist meditation. We are in inclusive group welcoming all who are interested regardless of their race, religion, orientation, or beliefs. Meditation, book studies, and talks are all offered freely although donations are greatly appreciated. This group is an affiliate of Sokukoji Buddhist Temple Monastery in Battle Creek Michigan www.sokukoji.org

Sokuzan will be guiding Opening the Eye Mind ™ Awareness Practice at the Grand Rapids Art Museum with a presentation at 2pm in the auditorium and practices in the galleries throughout the day.
Opening the Eye Mind ™ OTEM helps us to exercise the visual consciousness to completely receive, observe, and in a deep way, understand the relationship between visual objects.

The Sokukoji Buddhist Community would love for you to come Tuesday nights from 6-8 p.m. All are welcome - whether you are a beginning or experienced meditator, whether you are completely new to Buddhism or have been studying for years.
SokukoJi Buddhist Temple Monastery is a Soto Zen temple in Battle Creek that was founded in 2007 by the guiding Abbot, Sokuzan, who studied in both Tibetan Buddhist and Japanese Soto Zen lineages.
Every Tuesday evening Buddhist monks from SokukoJi lead meditation and a book study in Grand Rapids. On the first Tuesday of the month, Sokuzan offers meditation instruction, a dharma talk, and responses to questions from attendees.
There is no fee for the evening but donations help this weekly practice and study to continue. Call/text (734)272-1392 for further details.
