Leeds Over 50’s

Hi and Welcome to Leeds Over 50's,

The group has been running since September 2022 when I moved to Leeds for work and was in need of meeting new people and making some new friends. I decided to set it up for those over 50 who would be interested in joining in with a wide range of activities.
The group now has been a great success. Take a look at the past events to see the huge variety of things we have done so far. It's been great fun and I have been lucky enough to make some very good friends and met some fantastic people and I am very grateful to all who have joined in and come along to events.
The group now has many additional organisers who have helped hugely to host events and come up with ideas for future events and I'm very grateful to all of you who have helped in growing the group and making it a success.
The group is aimed at Over 50's but we have many members in their 60's+ and also some in their 40's so if you're in those age brackets you're welcome to join.
We offer a wide range of events including food & drinks, live music, pub quizzes, walks, picnics, visits to local attractions and more adventurous stuff too!
So if you like me are relatively new to the area or are just looking to make new friends and expand your social network then please join us and come along. We are also very happy for others to join us as organisers too or to come up with ideas for events so just drop the leadership team a message if you would like to add an event.

Joining Instructions:

1. Please ensure you have a recognisable picture of yourself on your profile.
2. When you request to join you will receive a welcome message and you will automatically have a 14 day free trial.
3. Before the 14 days has expired, if you wish to remain a member of the group you will need to pay your membership subscription fee as instructed.
3. Your membership will not be confirmed until your membership fee has been received. If you have any issues please email me directly at cheryl.411.69@gmail.com (Do not email through meetup).
4. The annual membership subscription fee to cover Meetup costs for 2025 there will be no additional fees to pay unless they are ticketed events which you will need to pay for in advance or purchase your ticket separately.
5. For ticketed events where you will need to purchase your own ticket, the link to buy your ticket will be posted within the event details.
6. Please do not click attending an event for a ticketed event until you have purchased your ticket.
7. We do not accept cash or cheques for membership fees or for paid events.

Housekeeping:

1. Please RSVP to events at least 24 hours prior to the event if you wish to attend so the host knows who is coming.
2. Please do not turn up to events when you have not RSVP'd.
3. Try to give at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend an event and amend your RSVP. Understandably things happen but sometimes there are waitlists so the earlier you can change your RSVP the better as this will allow someone else to attend.
4. If you repeatedly RSVP and/or no show and/or change your RSVP at the last minute we will have no alternative but to remove you from the group.
5. Some events allow you to bring non-member guests and this is shown on the event page, however after 3 visits we would expect guests to also join the group.
6. We are not a dating site or a singles only group and couples are also welcome to join. (Caveat - people are of course entitled to connect with each other if they are in a position to do so).
7. Any abuse, racism or disrespect shown to another member will not be tolerated and you will be removed from the group immediately.
8. We ask that all members treat each other and the hosts of the group with respect.
9. We appreciate that not all events will suit everyone but we aim to offer a variety of events so that there will something on offer to all.
10. We know it can be daunting coming along for the first time, hosts will always be happy to meet you and provide meeting/contact details, so come along and have some fun!
