After I became a mom, I didn’t expect how hard it would be to feel at home in my body again.
There was a quiet shame I didn’t know I was carrying — around my body, my identity, and my worth.
This new shape. These DD’s I thought I wanted, now beat up from breastfeeding. The stretch marks where my abs used to be. The hair thinning from stress. The closet full of dresses that once made me feel powerful — none of them zip anymore, even with the tightest Spanx.
And the worst part? The shame of even feeling this way.
Because wasn’t this the life I dreamed of?
I had healthy children. An amazing partner. A beautiful home.
So why did I still feel like I was failing?
Even the picture-perfect moments — the birthday photos, the cute holiday reels, the matching outfits — those Instagram-worthy glimpses only showed a second of calm.
What no one saw was the hour of tantrums, the milk spilled on the floor, the fourth outfit change, the fight I had with myself about whether I even belonged in front of the camera anymore.
I started to realize the performance of motherhood was draining me more than the reality of it.
Pre-kids, I was on it. Mentally sharp. Professionally driven.
Now? I could barely remember the diaper bag while cycling through doctor appointments, grocery lists, toddler tantrums, and a calendar that never quit.
I wasn’t just losing sleep. I was losing me.
In my twenties, I was in research mode — figuring out what I wanted to be.
But somewhere between career titles and family roles, I forgot the most important role of all: myself.
That’s why I’m co-hosting a gentle, donation-based somatic circle on May 13 with my friend Valeria Itriago, founder of Samadki. Valeria helps women reconnect to the wisdom of the womb through powerful embodied practices that soften shame, awaken intuition, and restore connection to the self.
What This Is
This is more than a class.
It’s a 90-minute virtual ceremony of remembrance — a space to reconnect with the sacred intelligence of your body and honor the womb as a portal of power, creation, and healing.
Inspired by Samadki Women’s Circle, Valeria will guide us through intuitive movement, breathwork, and energetic release to support deep healing from the inside out.
Together, We Will:
• Gently release shame stored in the body — especially around womanhood, identity, and worth
• Reclaim the womb as a source of pleasure, intuition, and creative energy
• Use breath, sound, and movement to soften survival patterns and restore flow
• Explore how generational trauma and guilt live in the body — and how to lovingly release them
• Reawaken feminine power through intuitive expression and embodied listening
All identities and lived experiences are welcome. Children are welcome too — we know how rare and sacred this kind of time is, and we want you to feel free to show up however you are.
A Love Offering
We are offering this gathering from the heart, and invite you to contribute as you feel called.
A suggested donation of $10–$30 helps support the time, energy, and facilitation behind this experience. If you’re feeling abundant, you’re welcome to pay-it-forward and help another mom attend.
