Hey everyone!! We're splitting our Pride event this year into two parts. Each year we tend to prioritize the night time events, so we miss out on the daytime festivities. This event will be for the earlier part of the day for those of us who want to explore the vendors in District Park and see what's going on at the mainstage. If you just want to join us for the parade and checking out the nightlife scene downtown after check out the second event that will be posted alongside this post.
Quick Note: For those of you who plan to attend both events. We're starting the day event early in hopes to beat some of the rush of people coming into the city closer to the parade. There will be a gap of several hours between the end of this event and the start of the second event, so please just keep that in mind. The day time event will be less drinking focused, so it may be a good time to drive home to relax for a few hours and uber back into the city for the night if you plan to drink. Of course you could always keep exploring and regroup with us later in the day.
Rhode Island Pride is returning again to District Park with a day's worth of live entertainment and plenty of vendors for us to check out. Let's meet at The Guild beer garden to gather everyone. The beer garden is limited with drink options, but it sounds like there's a drink tent on the opposite side of the park we can maybe take a break in later on.
We'll stay at the beer garden for awhile to give people time to find us before we move on. Once we're on the move it may be tough to find us, but Eddie will share is cell for people to text him. We'll explore the festival as a group to check out what the vendors have for sale and hang around the stage to enjoy some of the live entertainment.
Parking is likely going to be difficult since the festival brings a lot of people into the city. We're hoping since it's right at the start of the event, we'll luck out and get ahead of the rush. Still there's no such thing as a slow period when it comes to Pride since it's one of the biggest days in the city. Please budget some extra time just incase.
Please also just keep an eye on the post on the day of the event. If the group decides to stop for extended period somewhere, we'll update the comments for people running late. Also we may have a regroup spot if we get separated while exploring the vendors. The Guild should be open, but you never know with big events so please double check the start location before you head out (it will still be near the park in the unlikely event anything changes).
