What we’re about

This meetup is not for everyone. It sounds strange to put this as the very first sentence in the description, but it's best to be clear from the start.

This meetup is a current affairs and political discussion space. In-person, like the olden days, in a lovely little cafe in Boscombe (Wild Cafe) with coffee and cake on tap.

This meetup is not for everyone because in the course of discussion, your ideas will probably be challenged. Robustly. We never allow personal attacks - only attacks on arguments are allowed - and members will enforce this rule.

So in that sense it is a safe space: but it is certainly not a safe space for ideas.

If you are able to separate the arguments you advance from yourself, then Third Space may be for you.

There is only one other rule: Wednesday morning sessions cost £10, payable to the cafe for hosting and for the coffee and cake; Thursday evening sessions cost £15, similarly.

🗣️ Why?
Third Space exists to provide a forum for grassroots conversation about important issues. Such places essentially no longer exist in England, and so we set one up.

Join the conversation—you bring the ideas, we’ll bring the Third Space.
