Updates an existing Meetup group event's details

Request Parameters

Valid path parameters for :urlname and event :id are required.

Event descriptions only support a subset of HTML. Please see the Event Create documentation for more information.

OAuth authenticated applications should request the event_management OAuth scope.

announce

Boolean value indicating whether or not Meetup should announce this event to group members. This defaults to false.

description

String setting the description of the event, in simple HTML format. May not be longer than 50000 characters. Use an empty string to remove the existing description.

duration

Positive long representing event duration in milliseconds. Use 0 to remove existing duration.

event_hosts

String containing up to 5 comma-separated valid member ids for members who will be hosts of the event.

featured_photo_id

Positive integer representing a numeric identifier for a photo, which must be one associated with this group. Use 0 to remove the existing photo.

guest_limit

Positive integer representing the number of guests that members may include in their RSVP, 0 inclusive. Previously RSVP'd guests will remain unaffected if the value is reduced.

how_to_find_us

String setting the description for the location of the host(s) at the event venue. Use an empty string to remove the existing description.

lat

Float representing adjusted venue latitude. This can only be set if lon is included as well.

lon

Float representing adjusted venue longitude. This can only be set if lat is included as well.

name

String setting the name of the event. Must be at least 1 character and may not be longer than 80 characters.

publish_status

String indicating whether an event will be published to the group or as a draft visible only to the leadership team. If editing a draft event, "published" will publish the event. That is the only valid use of this field when editing an event.

question

String setting or replacing the RSVP survey question for the event. May not be longer than 250 characters. Use an empty string to remove the existing question.

rsvp_close_time

Positive long representing the time before which members will be allowed to RSVP to the event in milliseconds since the epoch. Use 0 to remove the existing RSVP close time restriction. This can only be set if there is a start time for the event.

rsvp_limit

Positive integer representing total number of RSVP slots available for the event. Use 0 to remove existing limit. Previously RSVP'd guests will remain unaffected if the value is reduced.

rsvp_open_time

Positive long representing the time after which members will be allowed to RSVP to the event in milliseconds since the epoch. Use 0 to remove the existing RSVP open time restriction. This can only be set if there is a start time for the event.

Cancels or removes an event from a groups calendar

Request Parameters

Valid path parameters for :urlname and event :id are required.

Only organizers and the creator of the Meetup event may delete the event

OAuth authenticated applications should request the event_management OAuth scope.

remove_from_calendar

Optional boolean parameter that, when set to true, fully deletes the event. If set to false, this operation cancels the event instead of completely removing it from the group's calendar. This defaults to true when not set explicitly.

update_series

Optional boolean parameter that, when set to true, will update all future recurrences of this event if this event belongs to an event series. Requesting this for an event that doesn't belong to an active series will result in an error. You can detect an event's association with a series by sending fields=series when requesting event data. This defaults to false, when not set explicitly
