Short Weekends Friday to Sunday
Friday Evening
Meetup 7:30-8pm on the Lightship PO12 1NU
A special place to start our weekend adventure. Here we’ll get to know our crew mates, talk about your experiences and what we have in mind for the weekends sailing. The lightship is stationed within the Boatfolk marina at Gosport and is managed by the wonderful Maria. There we’ll have the option of just drinks or if you haven’t eaten the dinner comes highly recommended.
As the evening draws to a close and we’re done on the lightship, we’ll head on over to Wolverine, a Rob Humphreys designed Elan 450, one of just two sports luxury cruisers in northern Europe. After a few tunes and perhaps a nightcap we’ll get settled down ready for the cruise the following morning.
Saturday, early rise and prep Wolverine to set sail whilst we have breakfast, one lucky volunteer heads up the pontoon to get the hot rolls. For those who are learning prepare your passage & sail plan to our selected destination, for those that are here just to enjoy the adventure, pop the kettle on 😊
08:30 we’ll start getting you ready for the day, which includes the fitment of life jackets and our usual safety briefing.
09:15 lets go!! Our sailing area depends on wind tide and selected destination, which can include Cowes, Hamble, Bucklers Hard, Lymington, Yarmouth, Poole Harbour and a few off-grid anchorages with tender trips up onto the beach.
Saturday evening we’ll get into the best pub / restaurant possible for great food and wherever we can live music and some dancing for those who still have wobbly sea legs, LoL!
Sunday, we’ll do it all in reverse, however this time you’ll have greater autonomy at which ever level you’re at [beginners and experienced], but don’t panic the skipper will be by your side keeping you safe and informed.
Long Weekends [This one]
Subject to the weather we try and get away with a night sail to enjoy the night stars and dancing phosphorescence in the water. Our destinations are a little further afield and appeal to those who have sailed before and those building their sea miles / night sailing hours. If you have not tried it before then it can be an amazing and spiritual experience.
