Menifee Scribes is a group of writers of diverse backgrounds and experiences. The writers in the group have varying skills and aptitudes as writers the first time beginning writer to the seasoned, published author and everyone in between. The goals of the group are to 1) meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month to read short excerpts from what each writer of his/her voice is currently working on in their writing endeavors. Any genre welcome whether poetry or prose for the critique. 2) Each writer brings a type 1-4 draft of the genre of writing.he/she/they are currently working on to be proofread, edited, and constructively criticized. The Menifee Scribe group conscious should be able to pass through three Hayes before given. 1) Is it kind? be honest but give your message to the other writer politely, Is it true? For example, is it going to help the writer improve? 3) Is it necessary? For example, is something the writer must know, edit, or revise to inform his/her/their writing, so their readers can understand? All are welcome to attend at Archibald’s Restaurant in Menifee, CA on the first Thursday of each month from 6-8 PM. The Menifee Scribes reserve the right to restructure or even the group if it becomes too big and based on a consensus based on group consciousness.
