What we’re about

This is a social activity group aimed at having some laughs, meeting up with friends both old and new, whilst enjoying the fabulous Cornish landscape!

We are a friendly, welcoming, inclusive group for adults of all ages. With most of the activities: events; dining (including picnics and moonlight feasts); or cultural, based around walks of different lengths and types. So you must be fit enough to walk, but we do so at a relaxed pace and are very laid back.
Walks and events are planned for all over Cornwall and beyond, for various days of the week and at different times of day. Some are only for a couple of hours, most are half a day with some a full day, with a swim, meal or gig along the way.

The Meetup organisation charges every group a subscription to belong to their website, so it has been decided to now charge a membership fee of £12 for the calendar year to cover these running costs to belong to this group. By paying this membership fee it gives you unlimited access to all the events organised by the group for the coming year. You can pay your membership fee on PayPal at paypal.me/moochinaround, click on the ‘Pay Friends and Family’ button, user name David Jones with the reference ‘2025 fees’ and your name if not clear from your Paypal profile. If you don’t use Paypal, message me and I’ll send you the bank details to pay the fee.

You will be expected to pay for those events where there will be additional costs such as meals, gig tickets, admission charges, hospitality, bus/train fares, car parking and public toilet charges…

As a group it is important that every member deserves to be treated with respect and kindness. Any inconsiderate behaviour within the group will not be tolerated and dealt with swiftly.

Group sizes for a walk or event are kept to a manageable size, up to 15 at any one time and some are repeated on a regular basis. Due to issues in the past, for those unable to attend a Meetup they have signed up for, it is important to remove yourself off the list as soon as possible, so others can take your place.

We are all responsible for our own health and safety when attending events, especially if you bring your pet on a walk.

The organisers are hosting walks and social events for members and do not hold any qualifications or liability insurance.

It is advisable to always bring good walking footwear and weather appropriate clothing, as some of the paths can get muddy and slippery even in our Summer!

Look forward to seeing you😊
