What we’re about
The MillHouse McKinney Team believes that when women gather together, amazing and unexpected things happen. We designed an environment for members to work or play, reset expectations, rediscover who we uniquely are, excavate our buried dreams, and find new ways to flap our butterfly wings to lift one another up. We host weekly speaker-led lunches on a variety of topics. Speakers are MillHouse members, as well as external leaders in the community, who share their knowledge and expertise in an informal setting. Speaker topics, workshops, and classes are based on members' interests, and offer participants the opportunity to learn new skills or practice existing skills. Quite often, new ideas for projects or business concepts emerge as women from different backgrounds and experiences gather together around shared passions. We are a women's co-work and collaborative space, but we offer these free meetups as well as workshops and classes for all women to gather together and inspire one another. You do not need to be a co-working member to join us at our meetups. We just want to help women flourish!
Alyson Stanfield will lead an informal conversation as she brings The Art Biz to McKinney. With over two decades of experience as a business coach for artists, Alyson is eager to address your questions and discuss the challenges you face in building your art business and career—offering solutions and business strategies whenever possible.
As the host of The Art Biz podcast, founder of the Essentials for Artist Success foundational business program, and author of I'd Rather Be in the Studio: The Artist's No-Excuse Guide to Self-Promotion, Alyson is dedicated to supporting artists in their journeys. She has given workshops and keynote addresses in 27 states.
She will be joined by Debby L. Williams, who, though recently retired, brings a wealth of experience as an administrator in granting and public art organizations, along with her background as a museum director.
