What we’re about
The Milwaukee Running Group - OMG is the most active running club in Wisconsin. We schedule 20 runs per week year round and host frequent social events. Last year there were over 1,800 runs or activities. Members are all ages and running abilities. We connect people who want to stay fit and find friends in a fun and supportive environment.
Facebook: We have a Private Facebook Page. click 'Join' to see pictures, social event announcements, memes, requests for advice, commentary, etc.
Facebook: We also have a Public Facebook Page. This page has general info, posts about once a month, and is visible to anyone.
Email Newsletter: We publish a quarterly eNewsletter announcing upcoming events and schedule changes. To subscribe send a short note with your name to mke.run.group@gmail.com and we'll add you to the list. You can unsubscribe with a single click at any time.
Benefits: There are a ton of benefits. Daily training runs, weekly social gatherings, discounts at local running stores, Packer parties, beer and snacks every Wednesday after the evening run, movie nights, (did we mention everything is free?), summer picnics, coached track workouts at Shorewood HS and the Pettit Center, indoor plyometric & yoga classes in the winter, trail runs on Sunday, a legendary all-night holiday party, banana awards, pub runs, Monday Medal, Oakleaf Trail cleanup service project, Meetup.com membership, parties, opportunity to join OMG Fall 50 / Ragnar / 5k / Beer Mile racing teams, couch to 5k training, marathon buildup runs year round, and 24x7 encouragement.
Membership: Annual dues are a measly $5 per year. That's less than you pay for coffee each day.
When to pay dues? Two Options...
1. Now! Make a commitment. If you pay now you're far more likely to show up for your first and second runs and feel like you're already part of the group. Some people need motivation to get off the couch, and paying $5 says that you're going to do it this time!
2. Later. Come to a run or two or seven and see if you like us. We don't mind. Some people are careful. Who wants to give $5 away needlessly anyways?
Ready to pay? Send dues payment including your name and email address using
- Venmo: @Patrick-Bieser-1 (last four digits of phone -> 6423)
- Paypal (friends and family option, not business) mke.run.group@gmail.com
- Google Pay mke.run.group@gmail.com
- Cash App $patrickbieser
- Paper Check to Milwaukee Running Group, 1572 E Capitol Dr. Shorewood, WI 53211. If you live off the grid bring $5 to your next run and give it to the host of the run. Dues cover Meetup.com fees, and beverage and food expenses at our outings and activities throughout the year.
Slow and Beginner Runners: A full 1/3 of our group consider themselves "slow" or "beginner" and they are always surprised after their first run... "I didn't think there would be anyone my speed to run with!" Paces for our group range from 7:30 - 15:00 minutes per mile. We also have members who walk -- which is about 16:00 minutes / mile. About 15% of our group are faster runners who can run sub 3:15 marathons. If you run at this pace you'll find good company and will be out in front. Please wait for us at the end (or run an extra mile).
Public Website: [www.mkeomg.com](http://www.Milwaukee-Running-Group.com) History of the group. Schedule overview. Member PRs and Firsts, FAQs, and more!
Schedule: We run outside all year in all weather, mostly on the sidewalks and paths near Lake Michigan. In the summer we do track / speed workout at Shorewood High School. Any and all abilities can do track work. You don't need to be fast. In the winter we offer plyometrics and yoga classes.
Social: We plan monthly social events like parties, picnics, Packer games, campouts, trips to races in far away places, brewery tours, movie nights, and more. Check the calendar on Meetup to see what's up this month.
We hope you find a run that fits your schedule and we look forward to meeting you soon!
Sincerely,
The Milwaukee Running Group Organizing Committee

Speed Work at Shorewood High School
Shorewood High School Track, 1701 E Capitol Drive, 53211, WI, USMeet us at 5:45pm for a track/speed workout at Shorewood High School. You can park in the lot (as pictured above) that is accessible from Morris, one block south of Capitol drive.
We'll start our warmup at 5:45. If you're late, we are probably just doing laps around the track. The workout usually starts around 6:05pm and we're done by 7 or 7:15, including cool down.
• What to bring
• Water! There is no water available on the track. There are sometimes bathrooms available inside the high school or in the concession stand
• Snacks for during and after-run recovery
