Board games night - ‘one game - endless fun’!

Welcome to the mini adventures’ board games night on Tuesday 29th October at Starlings in Harrogate, from 7pm-9pm.

Starlings has a wide variety of food and drinks you can purchase from the bar. They have kindly allowed us to use one of their private rooms upstairs to play our board games.

Our theme for this evening is ‘one game - endless fun’. We will split into small groups (4-6 players) and focusing on playing one ‘gripping’ board game that will take about 1-2 hours to play.

Although I will be bringing along a couple of games, please feel free to bring your own games along too.

If you enjoyed our last event (Agatha Christy), you're in for another treat—this time, we’re diving into a true murder that rocked Harrogate in the early 1900s! Mini Adventures and Harrogate Nights Out are teaming up to bring you an unforgettable night of mystery and fun.

Join us for an evening filled with suspense, intrigue, and fun as we work together to solve a murder inspired by real events. Step into the shoes of 10 real-life characters from Harrogate’s past or help unravel the mystery alongside your fellow detectives. The choice is yours, and if you want to dress up, all the better!

### Murder Mystery Synopsis

The setting: Oakdale Manor, Harrogate, where a casual potluck supper turns deadly. As the night unfolds, four gunshots pierce the silence, and Jacques Goyeau is found murdered. With tensions running high, Superintendent Morley is called to the scene to lead the investigation. He gathers the guests into the lounge, where they must confront the mystery head-on.

Throughout the evening, clues are revealed—a cryptic letter in French, a mysterious pink item, and movements in the manor late at night. But don’t worry, as the investigation progresses, the list of suspects narrows to just three. All you need to do is figure out who the real killer is!

The New Light Prize 2023/24 Exhibition: Shining a light on (contemporary) Northern Artists.

The Mercer Gallery in Harrogate is on Swan Road close to the Pump Room and the bottom entrance to the Valley Gardens.

I’ve had a look at the exhibition and it’s well worth a visit - something for all tastes.

Feast in Style:
Enjoy a luxurious, Christmas-themed three-course dinner, including a lavish dessert buffet that’s sure to satisfy every sweet tooth.

Menu:
Starters:

• Yorkshire Leek and Potato Soup with a warm cream cheese scone (v)
• Chicken Liver Parfait with onion marmalade and garlic crostini
• Cocktail of Prawns with seafood sauce (GF)
• All served with freshly baked harvester batch loaf and butter.

Mains:

• Roast Turkey Dinner with pigs in blankets, stuffing, roasties, seasonal vegetables, and proper gravy
• John Smith’s Braised Daube of Beef with horseradish mashed potatoes, roasted shallots, and pan roast gravy (GF)
• Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Polenta Bake with sautéed field mushrooms (GF Ve)

Desserts:
A gourmet buffet featuring a selection of chocolatey, fruity, creamy, and boozy puddings to choose from!

Served with freshly ground coffee.

Evening Fun:
Once the dinner is finished, the DJ will take over, playing fantastic tunes to get everyone dancing the night away. We may throw in a few fun games for your table to enjoy during the night.

We’ve worked hard to keep the ticket price as low as possible for this stunning venue. Tickets are £49.95, and to make things easier, you can secure your spot with a £20 deposit now and pay the balance by the end of October. You can pay by direct bank transfer, cash at an event, or by Paypal. We will message you when you RSVP with details on how to pay the deposit.

Closer to the event, we’ll confirm your menu choices and check for any dietary requirements or food allergies.
