What we’re about
Welcome to Misadventures in CLT! We plan to host a variety of events across Charlotte to provide opportunities for folks to meet new people while having fun and gaining new experiences! This group is geared toward young adults (20s-30s) but all are welcome.
Some of our upcoming events will include board game nights, escape rooms, walks, museums, movies, plays, mini golf, and more! As providing opportunities to meet new people is one of our goals, we will include ice breakers at some of our events. Moreover, we encourage you to take the time at each event to get to know some of your fellow Charlotteans!
As our name suggests, we recognize that things go wrong at times, but that this is just a part of the adventure! We hope you join in with our misadventures!

See all- Theatre Charlotte: Annie, Jr. (The Penguin Project)Theatre Charlotte, Charlotte, NC
Join us for an evening at the theatre supporting young actors with special needs! We will be watching “Annie, Jr” at Theatre Charlotte as part of the "Penguin Project" on Friday, 6/20 at 7:30pm. (Note: This is the START time, and I recommend getting their earlier)
Description of the play from their site
Presented by Theatre Charlotte’s Penguin Project
Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
The Penguin Project is a group of special needs artists who are joined on stage by a dedicated group of peer mentors who have worked side-by-side with the artists through months of rehearsals. By providing access to community theatre, The Penguin Project demonstrates that the special challenges of a disability should not handicap a child’s ability to participate in life’s experiences.
