Arcadia/East Pasadena/Monrovia Cycling

We are Arcadia/East Pasadena/Monrovia Cycling, We are a group of men and women who are not out to be the fastest cyclists, yet certainly can hold our own. The risk of injury from cycling is significant, and while particular skills, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious and potentially fatal injury does exist;

Required for all rides:

1. Please make sure your bike is in good working condition.
2. Please carry a cell phone, identification and money.
3. Please be able to ride about 10 MPH consistently for at least 3-5 miles at a time. This is not the ride for you if you've NEVER ridden your bike.
4. No earbuds or music, your attention is needed for your safety.
5. Bike Helmet, 2 water bottles, pump or CO2 Cartridges, spare tubes, snacks.
6. Electric bike while permitted, the riders of the electric bike are still expected to ride with the group and have their own ability to repair/charge their bike.

No drop policy. We wait for each other.

We do not ride in the rain.

We do make allowances for each other’s busy personal lives.

Periodically there is, if you are a beginner, ride at a slower pace, or just want to ride only on the bike lanes, this is the ride for you. Look out for it or message to find the future date.

The other Saturdays will likely consist of hill climbing and or be a challenge to novice riders.

Be responsible for yourself; carry identification, and your own medical insurance, follow safe road rules, and cell phone, bring water bottles, tubes, food, cash, and a fun attitude.

Arcadia/Monrovia/East Pasadena Cycling is simply a group of being riding together, we are not a formal group.

Bicycle riding is an inherently dangerous sport. Everyone who rides as a result of joining this Cycling Meetup does so and agrees that and assumes that East Pasadena/Arcadia/Monrovia Cycling assumes no liability for your participation. There is no official group and there are no dues, no leader of the group, and no one is 'in charge. In no event, shall anyone who meets up to ride with anyone at Recreation Park in Monrovia or Michillinda Park in Arcadia, or Peet's Coffee in East Pasadena or Encanto Park in Duarte or any other location that this group meets accept any liability for any injury, loss, or damage incurred by use of, or reliance, on information on this website, or from participating in group rides with anyone individual as part of East Pasadena/Arcadia/Monrovia Cycling Meetup. You acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:

1. The risk of injury from cycling is significant, and while particular skills, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious and potentially fatal injury does exist; and \
2. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE BY YOURSELF or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and \
3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of other cyclists immediately; and \
4. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS East Pasadena/Arcadia/Monrovia Cycling and other participants, and WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property associated with my presence or participation, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE BY MYSELF OR OTHERS to the fullest extent of permitted by law. \

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, I UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY JOINING IN RIDES, AND I AGREE WITH IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT. \

If you are a minor, you and your parent must agree to the above and the below: \

I am the parent or guardian of a minor who wishes to ride with the group and I am giving my permission for my child to participate in the cycling ride. I understand that the minor and I are bound by all terms above when we join the group to ride. \

If you do not agree with any of the above, do not ride with us! And remove yourself as a member online with East Pasadena/Arcadia/Monrovia Cycling.
