Before you know it, it will be Halloween and lots of decorations will be out! Let’s ride around some of the Daniel Island neighborhoods and see whose got the best. This will be a low-key cruise perfect for any style bike. Costumes and bike decorating is encouraged!

When the island opens, let's paddle out to explore and search for sharks' teeth. October 16 through March 14 access to Crab Bank Island is allowed only in the intertidal zone between low and high tide waterlines. No dogs are allowed. No person may enter any area of the preserve designated as a nesting area for birds.

Crab Bank Seabird Sanctuary was established to protect significant nesting habitat of sea and shorebirds. Due to bird nesting activity, this Preserve is closed to public use from March 15 thru October 15.

We will meet at the boat landing @ Simmons and Mill Street and head off promptly at 1030am. Low tide is approximately 11am so we should be able to ride the tide back in. I will check the weather and wind to be sure conditions are ideal.

Rental facilities (Coastal Expeditions & Nature Adventures) are nearby for those without equipment. These Rental companies have asked me to pass on the word to not park in their parking lot unless you are renting from them.

Don’t forget to bring your floatation device (required by law), sunscreen and water. All paddling vessels are welcome. Hope to see you on the water!
