David Vávra: Black Mirror Dystopic Social Network with Firebase
David created a social network for a role playing game based on the TV series Black Mirror, episode Nosedive. It was a relatively quick endeavor thanks to Firebase. All data are in Firebase Realtime Database and they are changed with serverless Firebase Functions. The result is native Android app and website used for administration. In the talk, David will go through the implementation details. He will also show you that Firebase is great not just for hobby projects like this, but also for large enterprise solutions.

While ChatGPT and large language models, in general, have taken the world by storm, the next revolution will be applying similar algorithms to biological data. This will enable the creation of completely new medications, enzymes, and maybe even fibers.
Leonidas Lundell, Data Science Team Lead for Animal Health IT, will walk you through the key algorithms and breakthroughs in disease prediction, structure prediction, and protein generation.
Among other things, we will discuss the protein prediction algorithm AlphaFold, the protein generation algorithm RFdiffusion, and the protein language model Evolutionary Scale Modelling, which has been created by Meta.
