See all- Photowalk: Guadalupe River State ParkGuadalupe River State park, Bulverde, TX, TX
We invite you to join us for the 6th annual Guadalupe River State Park ramble. We've enjoyed (re)visiting this hill country treasure for the last several years, and anticipate another beautiful morning of excellent weather, beautiful light, and conditions that surprise us.
This state park is about two hours south of Austin. The gate opens at 8:00, and visitors require a day pass. You can get a day pass at the Texas Parks and Wildlife website. As of this writing, there are are over 200 passes available for that date. Every attendee is responsible for their own pass.
We plan to arrive at the park gate promptly at 8:00 AM, and then get to the riverbend (at the north end of St Park Rd P31) as quickly as possible. This allows us to enjoy the wonderful light that exists during this last week of Daylight Savings Time.
To do this, carpoolers will depart La Frontera (Round Rock) at 6:00 AM. We meet in front of the Austin Telco Federal Credit Union (behind Applebee's). Please plan to arrive by 5:45 AM so we can organize and decide how many cars are required. Volunteers to drive are always welcome; how many we need is dependent how many folks show up.
Once at GRSP we'll wander about for about 90 minutes, then head out to find a restaurant in San Marcos for a late breakfast. One option is Buttermilk Cafe. We usually return to Round Rock around 1:00 PM.
