What we’re about
In today's go-go-go, everybody's behind, got to get more done world, it seems like our work week keeps us stressed to the max. That makes our weekends even more important, as a way to get out and get away from all the stresses of our jobs. But sometimes we're just too busy to find different things to do or meet new people. One group of Tennesseans has found a way around that time crunch. They meet up through the internet...first on a web page, then live and in person...and always with a common goal of outdoor adventure. Get to know Nashville Hiking Meetup.
In addition to our regular hikes and other outdoor adventures, we also plan social events and organize community volunteer projects such as park cleanup and trail building!
Get exercise,
. Make new friends,
. . Respect the environment,
. . . Give back to the community,
. . . . Laugh a lot
What more could you want? :-)

Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Searching for Fameflowers in the Tennessee Desert - Couchville Cedar GladeTyler Sykes Trail, Nashville, TN
* To sign up for this event, please go ahead and RSVP here on Meetup but you must also sign up on the Tennessee State Parks event page:
https://tnstateparks.com/parks/event_details/long-hunter/#/?event=Fameflower-hike-2025It's one of the smallest, most elusive and most famous wildflowers of the cedar glades, and also one of the most beautiful: the rare Limestone Fameflower.
However, there aren't many fameflowers around, and they bloom for only a couple of hours each day. To see one in its full glory, you must get out into the habitat where they thrive: the hot and toasty limestone glades, aka the Tennessee Desert! Are you brave enough to step into their living room?
Join Ranger Leslie Allen at Couchville Cedar Glade to learn about this unique plant and hopefully find a few in bloom. For this easy one-mile stroll, we'll try to take advantage of a few shady spots; however, sun block or a sun hat is recommended. And don't forget some water!!
Note: This event is limited to the first 12 people who sign up on the park website. I'm posting here to give Meetup members an opportunity to join. Once the event is full, the park website will say "Sold Out" and will not allow anymore signups. Thank you!
