From 1962 through 1971, Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote a string of hits for Dionne Warwick to sing, like "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" and "I Say a Little Prayer." All three had success before and after, like "Then Came You," "On My Own" and "To All the Girls I've Loved Before." Many of these songs have been covered by more recent artists like Elvis Costello and Ronan Keating.
