What we’re about
We play D&D and other roleplaying games at the People's Theatre in Newcastle upon Tyne on Sundays. Boardgames and other games are welcome, but not organised.
Everyone is welcome - complete novices and hardened adventurers alike. We run the games in a very loose shared world of Moradonia. Each adventure lasts one session, and you can choose to adventure with any available DM. Stick with your favourite or try out someone new! To keep up-to-date with the events and rumours from the games, join the People's D&D Sundays Facebook group or Discord.

See all- [10/11/2024] People's Dungeons & Dragons SundayPeople's Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne
Hello, I'm Alex; me and my friends have run People's D&D group since April 2022 where we host monthly Dungeons and Dragons sessions in The People's Theatre in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Event
We run a series of one-off Dungeons and Dragons games in a shared fantasy world of Moradonia, where players join as adventurers of Steel Phoenix Guild. All games are self-contained standalone adventures - so that you're free to join at any point.
We welcome anyone, regardless of experience level with role-playing games or personal background. We aim to maximize fun, have a good time and make friends - we won't spend ages arguing over minutia of rules :)
We play with 5th edition D&D ruleset - anything in an official published rulebook is legal. We don't support the 2024 PHB at the moment.
Location: The People's Theatre, Coast Road, NE6 5QF
Date and time: 10/11/2024 @13:00
Duration: ~3-4 hours
Due to noise in the room we're limiting attendance to 30 players tops (6 games of 5 players). Please arrive promptly before the start of games at 13:00, or you might get turned away.
We will start using updated 2024 D&D rules starting from February 2025 game. We'll help updating characters and such if you need a hand, but ultimately your character is your own responsibility.
We're VERY MUCH on the lookout for more GMs so if you're interested in that let us know, and I'll welcome you into our cabal, and the secrets of Moradonia.
What to bring
- If you've never played or are inexperienced at D&D - we will provide a pregenerated character, but you can bring a level 1 character, if you wish. You can bring pen/pencil + paper for taking notes
- If you're an experienced player - you can bring a 6th level character if you feel confident playing it (or one can be provided for you)
Your characters will level up based on how many games you've played, and level cap is 8.
What is D&D?
Dungeons & Dragons is a table-top fantasy role-playing game, focused on storytelling. You play a fantasy character (i.e. a noble knight, or an arrogant wizard), and you embody that character in a sort of improvisational acting.
Together with other players, you form an adventuring party, explore the world and embark on epic quests.
Another player is the Game Master (also known as Dungeon Master) - the game's referee and storyteller. They populate the world, and tell you the consequences of your actions (good and bad alike), weaving the story together with you.
Everything is your decision, from what you look like, to how you act, to what happens next - so let your creativity shine :)
