Share Your Favorite Summer Classics!
Celebrate with community and creativity—bring a plant-based dish you love or try giving a plant-based twist to a traditional favorite. No pressure as always, fruit or simple salads are always welcome!
As always, please avoid all animal products and reduce or eliminate added oils, salt, and sugars.Kindly bring your own serving spoons, plates, utensils, and water bottles. We will be glad to furnish these items if you forget, but providing your own items saves our volunteers a tremendous amount of time, giving them more time to answer your questions and socialize with participants.
*Note: We will be dining outside on the lawn on the rear side of the church. Please bring chairs and/or blankets to sit on. For your convenience, please also bring a folding table (if you’d like to). If it rains, we will dine inside in the Founder’s Room.
Book Club
If you would like to participate in the AUGUST book club, please finish reading "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer in time for the August 6, 2025 potluck. https://www.robinwallkimmerer.com/booksThere will be no PEP book club at the July potluck.
See you on July 2nd! - Hiking + Vegan Dining - Burlington CountyWhitesbog Historic Village, Browns Mills, NJ
The 102nd in NJveg’s hiking/walking + vegan dining series will be our annual hike at Whitesbog. We'll meet in the main parking lot near the General Store (GPS coordinates 39.959255, -74.509671). We’re not sure if any relatively local vegan-friendly restaurants will be open, but let us know if you have any ideas. We can at least dine on blueberries along the trail! Inclement weather date TBD.
Update: A couple of our members have offered to host a post-hike vegan BBQ about 22 minutes away! If you'd like to contribute something, perhaps bring it in a cooler with ice so it doesn't bake in your car during the hike!
- Volunteer Work Day - 511 Farm SanctuaryHolland Township, Holland Township, NJ
Join NJveg for a volunteer work day! We’ll be helping the vegan non-profit micro-sanctuary 511 Farm Sanctuary. We highly recommend bringing a water bottle, bug spray, sunblock, work gloves, work boots, and clothes that can get dirty. If you’d like to donate, you can do so at the sanctuary or online.
Space is limited, children 12+ welcome accompanied by a parent. Please sign up only if you are serious about attending and plan to attend for the full time. If anything comes up and you need to cancel, let us know ASAP, so that we may fill your spot. We’ve had a problem with last minute cancellations - don’t be that person! The address will be provided privately to volunteers before the event.
