Our November Meetup will follow a Lean Coffee format - a structured but democratic discussion approach that puts you in control of the conversation topics. There's no predetermined agenda or speakers. Instead, we'll generate topics together and vote on what to discuss first.
The Format:
- Write down AWS topics you'd like to discuss
- Vote on the most interesting ones
- Discuss top-voted topics in focused 5-8 minute time blocks
- Move through topics based on group interest
From our facilitator, Bill Tucker:
In the course of nerdy tech events it becomes necessary to produce programming for yet another monthly meetup. There comes a time to not showcase the latest tech or coolest in depth pet project but to elicit the questions and wonderings or short show-and-tell from the participants of the community. This time is now.
We will use leancoffee.org format. Bring your questions, demos, or AWS outrage to be placed on a pedestal for discussion in a savory time box. (5 minutes or less) Topics will be discussed in the order of cardinality of interest. (Topics of most interest go first) we may not get to everything…
We do this not because it is easy, but because we thought it would be easy.
This format provides an informal survey of interest in our community and will provide a forum for questions that were too shy to be asked.
Please prepare something if you can, but definitely bring your willingness to listen and share. Look forward to a lively discussion.
Speaker Bio:
Bill Tucker was born at an early age and succumbed to getting a masters in Operations research. Because no one knows what that is, he now works making web apps with Python, putting data in databases and trying to build community. He also uses vim.
