For dog owners it is important to realize that not all parks are open to our four-legged friends. it is sometimes hard for dog owners to believe but not everyone loves dogs. We are, in fact, in the minority when compared with our non-dog-owning neighbors. As such, rules can change rapidly to ban dogs from even more of our public parks. It doesn't take a referendum or a ballot count for "NO DOGS" signs to appear overnight.

So make sure your dog is a good citizen on the trail - don't bother other hikers and pick up after him - and you will be embarking on a passion that will last a lifetime.

Get fit - grab a leash and hit the trail!

Public Fishing Pier, Edmonds, WA 98020, Edmonds, WA
Let's meet at the Edmonds Fishing Pier and go for a walk along the waterfront.

We start right at 7PM so be on time. if you are running a few minutes late you will probably be able to catch up. The Dogs take their time to do their business at the start usually.

You may want to bring a flashlight and lights for your dogs as sun will have set before we begin.

Dress for the weather. Inclement weather may cancel so always check here before heading out.

Dogs on leash and poop must be scooped

Plan on 2-3 miles distance in about an hour/hour and a half.

This route is paved sidewalk. Wear appropriate footwear.

Welcome to our off season. Bad weather happens, but i try not to let it stop us. Dangerous conditions, however, will cause me to cancel completely or change what we do. Please check in the morning of the event to see what is happening. Arm yourself for winter weather. Please keep your RSVP up to date - even if you are on the waiting list.

Lake Sammamish State Park is a popular 512-acre park featuring 6,858 feet of waterfront, a deciduous forest, wetland vegetation, three salmon-bearing streams and a great blue heron heronry.

Pass/Permit Required: STATE DISCOVER PASS
Automated pay station: This park is equipped with an automated pay station for visitors to purchase a one-day or annual Discover Pass.
Dogs allowed on leash, poop must be scooped and disposed of properly.

There’s the option of going to an off-the-beaten path beach at the end, if you’re interested.

We are meeting at the front of the Tibbets beach (near the bathroom facilities).

Plenty of parking. Park in the lot for Tibbetts beach.

Magnolia Park, Seattle, WA
This month let's start at Magnolia Park and walk the boulevard to Discovery Park and then do the loop trail through Discover Park before heading back. Views could be awesome as well as the gardens.

About 7-8 miles and 430 ft elevation gain, depending on the exact route we take.

Dogs in attendance must be leashed and have their owner present.

No children under the age of 12, unless they are in a stroller.

We will make it a priority to walk as a group. Paces may be a little different but I will stop along the way for others to catch up. Everybody needs to watch out for others. Let somebody know if you need a break or are going to turn around/

Please check email or this site the day of the event for any last minute changes or cancellations due to weather, road closures, illness, etc. I will try to post last minute details by 7am.
