Mafia and/or Werewolf. It's an amazing psychological game where you need to tell the truth, lie, pretend, and read body language. It's not required to have any experience, and it's really easy to play. We will be starting at 14:00, feel free to come later. Sometimes, I add an story to the game, so its even more fun and few extra roles. Often we provide some snacks as well. £5 for the hall rent please.
The Mafia deduction game (alternative called called Werewolf) is a social deception game where players are secretly assigned roles as either Mafia (the "bad guys") or Civillias(the "good guys"). The goal of the Mafia is to eliminate all Civilians without being caught, while the Villagers must identify and eliminate the Mafia through discussion and voting. Some players may have special roles, like Sheriff, who can investigate others.
Why Mafia is good to play:
-
Improves Social Confidence – Players must speak up, defend themselves, and convince others, helping to overcome shyness and build assertiveness.
-
Enhances Psychological Resilience – Handling suspicion, false accusations, or being outplayed teaches emotional control and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
-
Boosts Analytical Thinking – The game sharpens critical thinking, as players must analyze behaviors, detect lies, and make logical arguments.
-
Encourages Risk-Taking – Whether lying as Mafia or accusing someone as a Villager, players learn to take strategic risks without fear of judgment.
-
Develops Public Speaking Skills – Speaking persuasively and confidently in a group setting makes it easier to express thoughts in real-life situations.
-
Teaches Emotional Intelligence – Recognizing deception and reading people's emotions improves the ability to navigate social interactions outside the game.
If you're looking to strengthen your mental resilience, become more courageous in discussions, or simply train your mind to think quickly under pressure, Mafia is a great way to do it!
