What we’re about
“This group is dedicated to bringing together individuals who have a passion for EATING and watching CINEMA. We want to meet once every couple of weeks. Whether you are an artist, writer, musician, or simply someone who appreciates the arts, or the culinary arts, this is the perfect place for you to connect with like-minded individuals. Our meetups will focus on sharing ideas over dinner, collaborating on projects inspired by films we're watching, and providing a supportive community for all who join. We're just getting started.
Personally when there's nothing better to do than comment on the weather and the news that means you should get out a little more, why not join us for food + a film that'll keep you chatting for hours and perhaps spark the creativity for project of your own.”
“Interested in discovering new people? Finding interesting films that spark conversation and enjoying it all over dinner. Make new friends and meet unique individuals.”
“Nothing Better To Do Eat + Cinema Guidelines – Be Cool, Eat Well, and Enjoy the Show. This group is all about great food, great films, and even better company. To keep things running smoothly, we have a few rules. Break them, and you might find yourself permanently banned—no warnings, no sequels, just an abrupt fade to black.”
• Respect the Organizer and the Event
The organizer works hard to put these gatherings together, so don’t make their life harder. Show up on time, follow the plan, and don’t be the reason they consider retiring from event planning forever.
• Good Vibes Only
This is not the place for negativity, gossip, or drama. If you wouldn’t say it in a heartwarming movie montage, keep it to yourself.
• If You See Something, Say Something
If something feels off, don’t wait for the plot twist to escalate. Report it. Your silence won’t roll the credits on a bad situation.
• Consent and Respect
“No” means NO. If something you say or do is not clearly welcomed, take a breath and respect personal space.
• Be Polite and Considerate
Treat everyone with kindness and respect. If you wouldn’t say it to your grandma at Thanksgiving dinner, probably do not say it here.
• No Politics, Religion, or Controversial Topics
We’re here for food and films, not fiery debates. If you feel the urge to argue, redirect that energy into a passionate discussion about the best movie snack.
• Respect Boundaries and Personal Space
If someone looks uncomfortable, take the hint faster than a bad sequel gets pulled from theaters. Pay attention to social cues.
Dinner and Lunch Guidelines – Because No One Likes a Hangry Moviegoer
- Respect the Restaurant or Host – Be mindful of the space, staff, and any rules. Clean up after yourself like a civilized human.
- Be Punctual – Arriving late might mean missing out on food, seating, or even the start of the event. Don’t be that person.
- Order Considerately – If we’re dining as a group, try not to order the most complicated dish.
- Split Bills Fairly
If separate checks aren’t an option, don’t mysteriously "forget" your wallet. We see you. - Dietary Preferences & Allergies – If you have specific needs, let us know ahead of time. No one wants a surprise plot twist involving an EpiPen.
- Respect Dining Etiquette – Keep noise levels reasonable, be kind to servers.
Plan Ahead – The Group May Temporarily Split Up
Sometimes we’ll break off into smaller groups during outings. Stick with the plan, communicate, and don’t get lost like a side character in a horror movie.
By following these guidelines, we can ensure a smooth, fun experience for everyone. Thanks for being part of Nothing Better to Do Eat + Cinema—now let’s eat, watch, and repeat
