Welcome to Oars & Pours! We're building a community of paddle people (stand up paddle boarders, kayakers, etc.) in Ventura County. Join us for a weekend paddle followed by a drink and some hangs in Oxnard, Ventura, and beyond. 🤙
Whether you're an expert SUPer looking for a little company out on the water, a novice kayaker considering buying a board, or eager to justify your water toy garage space, this group is for you.

Get your costumes ready - Oars & Pours is joining the Channel Islands Harbor Witches & Warlocks Halloween Paddle! 🧙♀️
As it will likely be busy, the Oars & Pours crew will rally up at the bottom of the steps - harbor side - behind the Coffee Bean at 11:45 with gear ready to go. (See map for details.) We'll take off with the larger event from the public dock behind Von's in Channel Islands Harbor at noon.
Following the paddle, we'll grab ice cream at Buttercups Cool Treats.
All speeds of standup paddle boarders and kayakers are welcome - it's all about making it back to the start. 🤙
- 🛶 PADDLE: SUPs, kayaks, canoes, and the like are all welcome.
- ⏰ TIMING : We'll meet at the rally point at 11:45 a.m. and push off with the larger event at noon. If you are late to the rally point and miss us, we'll catch you out on the water. [We cannot afford to wait for stragglers.]
- 🚗 PARKING: There's plenty of free parking in the Vons shopping center.
- ➡️ FORMAT: We typically paddle for about an hour, deflate/load our gear in our cars, and then reconvene for some hangs. Shortcuts are welcome and no worries if you have to cut out after the paddle. [In this case we will be linking up with a larger event for the paddle portion.]
- 🛟 RENTALS: We do not have information on rentals - most folks in our group bring their own gear. You are welcome to find rental information on your own.
- 💡EXPERIENCE: We recommend some experience as we do not have resources available to teach. If you are a total beginner, we recommend bringing a buddy to stick with you.
