What we’re about
This group is being reinvented as a creative space for people to practice creative/nerdy hobbies as part of a community. If you want to draw, write, read, play video games or have video game discussions with others, knit, sew, or paint as part of a community this is the group for you!
In the future there are also the possibility of day trips, potlucks at private houses (with established trust), or weekend activities outside of the regular meetup. Please contact me if you have an idea for an activity you would like to host.
I would also like to get a discord channel going for people with specific interests in the group.
This group is being fostered as an intentionally conscious community with an aim at providing positive communication and socialization for those who join us. We believe that communication and genuine connection has become especially culturally challenging, and we want to provide a safe and inviting space for those looking to socialize or relearning how to connect with others in a positive manner.
As such, we have strict rules about social engagement:
-No bullying. Be mindful of how you engage others, even (especially) friends. If someone is making you feel uncomfortable please speak up, either to the hosts or to the person making you feel uncomfortable. We understand that these conversations can feel hard but we feel that they are necessary for healthy group cohesion and understanding. People are not mind readers. Let someone know if they are overstepping your boundaries!
-Sexual harassment will be taken seriously. Before you touch someone, please ask for consent! Again, if someone is making you feel uncomfortable, please come and speak with a host.
- We are a progressive group with progressive values, and lgbtq and international friends from all cultures and backgrounds are especially encouraged to join us. However, this is meant to be a positive, stress-free environment. Please try to avoid charged political conversations or conversations about controversial topics that might disrupt the peace.
The world feels especially hard these days. We want members to feel safe to come create art, decompress, and chill with us, and we look forward to seeing you out!
