Its back to Loughton this week for a walk in the opposite direction. This one is a semi-circular to Roding Valley, ending in the (optional) Monkhams Pub mid afternoon-ish for some well deserved food and/or drink.
The route is about 6-7 miles and there will be a coffee stop halfway, where those who prefer a shorter walk can hop off for trains or buses.
For people going to the end, there is a bus outside the pub which goes back to the start point for those parked there. Anyone needing to go in other directions can please ask me on the day, as there are several options with buses and trains. This bus may be appropriate for many https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/route/w14/
We're meeting at 11.00am outside Loughton Station and will be leaving fairly promptly.
If you're driving, park in Brook Rd and walk over to the station. Most of the yellow lines in that road don't apply on a Saturday.
The station can also be reached with the 167 bus from Ilford, Gants Hill, Barkingside, Chigwell; the 20 bus from Walthamstow, Snaresbrook, Woodford; and the 397 bus from Chingford.
Havering and Chadwell Heath members are best getting the Elizabeth Line to Stratford and the Central Line to Loughton.
If you are coming from Romford area, you could also get a 247 bus to stop W (called New North Rd), and directly opposite at the stop going the other way, you can get a 167 to Loughton station.
If you haven't already pre-paid for Oct, I ask for a nominal contribution of £2 per walk to help cover Meetup organiser fees. No shrapnel please.
