The Palm Beach Pack & Paddle Club plans several events each month for exploring and appreciating nature. Some of these last a day, some last a week or longer. They are local and they are long-distance. Activities include kayaking and canoeing, backpacking, hiking and biking, snorkeling, car camping and wilderness or river camping. In addition, we have monthly meetings at Okeeheelee Nature Center with guest speakers on environmental and other topics of interest.
This site and these events are functions of Palm Beach Pack and Paddle Club. In addition to these activities, our Conservation Committee raises funds to send children to summer nature camp and donates to local organizations that help to preserve our unique Florida environment.
You're welcome to attend our Meetups and be a Meetup Member only, but we would like you to become a member of our club. The cost is only $20 a year. Most of our trips are on the Meetup site, but there are many trips available to club members only, particularly those that involve long-distance travel or overnight stays. There is never a charge by the club for any of our activities.
If you wish to join Palm Beach Pack & Paddle Club, the application link is above. You may join by mailing the completed application (above) with a check payable to Palm Beach Pack and Paddle Club to the address at the bottom of the form. Or, come to an event, join and pay in cash, or, use the Paypal link below.

See all- Dyer Park Bike Ride (with MTB Adventure opportunity)Dyer Park, West Palm Beach, FL
It's been a few years since the last P&P event on the Dyer Park "Hill".
This park has several bike trails, some leisurely and some not so much. The trails have a variety of surface types, from paved, to shell rock, to narrow dirt paths between trees, to mountain bike technical. For those not familiar with Dyer Park, it is the site of a former landfill and now in the evening shadow of the new landfill. Don't worry, most days your nose can't tell a landfill is under you!
The hill with the primary bike path is about 60 ft high and an adjacent hill is home to the "First Tee" youth development organization and the RC Bush Pilots remote control model aircraft airfield.
There are several parking lots in the park. The most convenient for us is by the Hawk Pavilion, near the playground, restrooms, and basketball courts. Note that we will not be renting the pavilion.
Location: 7301 Haverhill Road WPB.- GPS: 26.7875, -80.1250

Use the park's North entrance for the easiest route to the parking area; west off Haverhill, 0.1 mile south of Beeline Highway.
We'll plan to ride for about 90 minutes starting at 10:10 and then find a spot to sit, relax, and have a bag lunch. Remember your helmet, bag lunch, water for the ride and lunch, sun UV protection, and a folding chair. There are several picnic tables and park benches near the pavilion so the folding chair may not be needed.
While some of the bike paths are relatively flat, others involve some hill climbing where single gear bikes may have difficulty.
The MTB (mountain bike) trails are relatively easy for experienced MTB riders but might be quite challenging for MTB novices. Most sections of the MTB trails can be easily aborted if found to be too challenging.
Check the event status in Meetup in case we need to reschedule or cancel for some reason.
Tom Arth and Mike Barr will lead this event.
